Pink Jeep Tours - Sedona
I was reading below and this sounded interesting. First do they offer these tours in August when it's very hot? Is the jeep air conditioned? Can children (ages 4 and 2) go on this tour, too? Thanks!

Pink Jeep tours are wonderful. There are also other Companies that do the same thing. Go to their website or ask them to send you a brochure.
The Jeeps, as you will see from their site, are open air. You are seat belted into the Jeep as it travels on paved, unpaved roads and off-road trails. Some of them are quite "bumpy" but they are all safe.
Tours go everyday, all year round. August will be hot. The tours start about 9am and go til dark. They are so popular you need to book early and even before you get there, to get the best times and tours.
A 4 year old would be ok but a 2 year old might be pushing it a it. I would call them to see if they have any restrictions.

The jeeps are not air conditioned. The children should be in car seats (at least state law where I live). I would check with the company. It's a nice ride but I think the kids are too young to enjoy it. Might depend on the length of the tour.

I know people love these tours, but we felt it was a big rip-off because we aren't interested in the supposed vortex, nor do we care which rock is known as "Snoopy."
There are upteen great ways to comune with the rocks without spending big bucks on this tour.
Let's put it this way: There is a reason tickets for these tours are sold from little kiosks around town just like those used to sell time-shares in Mexican resort towns.
That said, the little ones will probably find it fun to ride in a pink jeep. If you have the nearly $200 for two hours of hooey, why not treat them?

We did the Pink Jeep Broken Arrow tour (DH, son, 11 and son, 21) two summers ago, and we still consider it--along with the Colorado River float trip--to be among the highlights of our trip. That being said, I think it would be too much for a 2 year-old. There are other trips that are not so rough, but we LOVED this one.
