PERFUME through TSA

Any advice, other than carrying perfume samples, on how to travel with perfume that is over 3 oz?

I gather it is not do-able at all over that size, just wondering if travelers just do without or buy another bottle at their destination?

If it is over 3 oz there is only one way to take it with you, it must be packed in your checked suitcase. If it is in the carryon, you risk [high degree of risk] that it will be taken from you.

DebitNM, thanks. I thought so.

I'll go without.

I usually bring samples. Get those from free samples when ordering from Sephora etc. They usually come in a tinsy spray bottle, perfect for a trip.

Search on-line, maybe you can find a travel size of your favorite parfume.

My rather large looking spray bottle of Shalimar is actually less than 3 oz! So maybe your scent is available in a size larger than a skimpy sample but less than the 3 oz. limit.

I have a small atomizer (glass bottle inside silver container). I transfer a small amount into that for travel. I found it at Sephora. It comes with a tiny funnel.

Ask for a sample at a department store. They are WAY smaller than 3 oz.

Other REALLY easy option, is to just CHECK your luggage(!!) then you won't have to worry about any of these things (suitcase size, gels/liquids, perfume, etc.).

Oops, I didn't answer your question! For me I just do without scent when I travel. I wouldn't take a full sized bottle of cologne, even if I could. Way too heavy and big.

No big deal at all. Get a purse atomizer - I guess it is only ladies "of a certain age" who know about those

Stop by the perfume counter at your large Dept store (Nieman, Macy's, Dillard's). Some "samples" now come in these nifty tinfoil packets, like wet ones. You tear it open and there is a little cotton pad with the scent on it. No problem on taking as many of those as you want.

Heck, this would be a good time to try some new perfumes. One a day. How lovely!

If your favorite perfume is hard to find in a sample, try www.theperfumedcourt.com where they will decant perfumes into small sample sizes for a few dollars. They have a huge selection including niche perfumes.

I really don't understand the issue. I've had various purse atomizers for 40+ years - since about 8th grade. How else does a lady carry her favorite scent w/ her???

You just use the included tiny funnel to pour your favorite perfume into it.

Just remember to rinse it out before putting a different perfume in it - unless you just want to experiment w/ a blend . . . .
