Packing Questions
Has anyone used the clear plastic (don't know the name,) thingies that you can put items in and suck the air out of for packing clothing to take up less space, or will security need to open them? They would save so much space in a suitcase!
Also, I posted this on US board with mixed answers, but thought I would ask here. Has anyone had any problems putting medications in the 7 day containers? So far, we have never had any problems, but since things are changing so much, just thought I would ask opinions, since DH has HUGE containers in which he gets 3 month supplies of meds and it would take up major space. I'm guessing since St. John is US, I would not have as much of a problem as if I were going out of the country.

Yes, you can use the 7-day pill containers. I travel with them all the time in my carry-on and never have had a problem.
Yes- you can use those plastic bags that you suck all the air out of (I have them but don't remember the name either - don't use the too often as I find my clothes get too wrinkled).
If you are doing carry-on you must put all your "liquid & gel" cosmetics and toiletries in one quart size plastic bag. Check the TSA web-site (www.tsa.gov/) for complete list of items of approved and/or banned items for both checked and carry-on luggage.

My husband also travels with his 7-day pill box. But we always make sure we have a copy of each prescription with us to be on the safe side.
we recently purchased from Magellan's a nifty little pill travel case that's flexible and is basically a small folder with a series of small durable Ziplock-like bags. That way they can't possibly come open during travel (unlike once with one of the hard pill boxes) and they're relatively water proof. one side of the folder is for AM pills and the other side for PM ones.
