Have your flown with aeresols lately?
I was wondering if you have flown with shaving cream, hair mousse etc in your checked in bags recently and if so, how it survived?
I realize that these products can be purchased at destination, but we will be staying on 3 islands during upcoming trip and would prefer not having to buy these things 3 times.
I read the recent threads on ziplocks etc but am looking for info regarding how these products actually held up during flight... Any leaks etc?
Thanks in advance,
Debi

Definitely put them inside a liquid proof container of some kind. A friend of mine had one that leaked into the plastic bag - but it was brand new and full - which may have been the problem. Or, the top may have been defective - who knows.)
(I have had pop-top travel bottles leak when they were completely full - in a carry-on, not checked luggage - you need to leave some room inside the bottle or can for the liquid to expand in the lower air pressure.)

Debi,
Just make sure they're not brand new, as NYtraveler was saying. Same goes for any kind of liquid. There's no room for the air pressure to go. Sometimes I even put items like these in two ziplocs.
Wow - 3 islands?? You lucky girl!
