Palm beach in late august
My H and I are trying to plan a trip for a long weekend in late august and were wondering if it would be wise look into palm beach- we could stay at the Breakers for a fraction of what it normally costs in season. is it UNBEARABLY hot? we just got back from bermuda in July and while hot, it was not unbearable.

Hi mamby
It is HOT! We just got back. During the day it's 93 with 90% humidity. Very thick!
But, I would definately go, espescially to stay at the Breakers for a fraction of what it costs. You'll be in the ocean or the pool anyway. Enjoy!

I'd go, no question-the Breakers is a wonderfully elegant place to hang out and relax. As for the heat, remember, you're going to get some ocean breezes out on the Atlantic beaches side-and particularly after the afternoon storms, it becomes very pleasant to walk around in the evening, particularly on the beach.
If you go, make sure and stop in my favorite West Palm Restaurant-Tsunami-the hippest and coolest bar-Asian fusion cuisine-great sushi-very nice looking crowd -large golden Buddha heads placed all around a bay window dining area, with the bar up on the second level where you can sit and look out on the dining scene.
