Orlando in September or Las Vegas
Hello Everyone. I know this far ahead, but I am looking at booking a timeshare week for September 20, 2007. We were not sure between Orlando and Las Vegas/Los Angeles. I have been to Orlando last x-mas, but my girlfriend never went and she is a big fan of themeparks, disney etc.
We could have the following resorts to exchange in:
Orange Lake Country Club
Sheraton Vistana
Silver Lake Resort
Hilton Grand Vacations Club International Drive
Hilton Grand Vacations Club Sea World
Las Vegas has only 1 resort - Summer Bay resort.
Orlando we could drive...2 days
Las Vegas we would fly on airmiles....
Our concern is the wheather in Orlando...Hurricane Season, I know its impossible to predict...but historically, end of September what should I expect??? Also, any comments on any of the above hotels?

I am an owner at Summer Bay in Las Vegas, and it is a really good location. It's right behind the Flamingo and Imperial Palace. You can easily walk to the Strip in 10 minutes.
Do keep in mind that the units are former apartments, but they have been recently renovated with all new furniture and mattresses. (Personally, I'm very impressed with the makeover!) Also know that there are no elevators and you may end up in an upstairs unit, so pack accordingly. Vegas weather in late September will be nice for walking around outdoors!

The resort in las vegas doesnt seem too great when I compare it to the ones in Orlando...so we might take our chances and book orlando with trip insurance....but I guess Orlando is far enought from the Coast that hurricanes might not be too bad?? Out of the Orlando resorts I mentionned, any comments on them?

I'm not familiar w/ the other resorts, but the hilton resorts aren't bad and are located around several tourist spots.
It will definitely be warm enough in late September for swimming, unfortunately the rain is unpredictable. If it does rain though it usually does not rain all day (except for experiencing a hurricane)

Vegas can still be blazing hot in September. In fact it is 100 there today.
Summer Bay is not a resort, really. Not even close. Nicely renovated I guess, but it's basically a former Ramada Inn set in an alley behind the Flamingo Hotel.

I'd go for Orlando. And get the travel insurance.
We went first week in October a few years ago (OK 10 years ago) and we had weather in the 90's every day. It was almost too hot for the theme parks some days.
That said, we planned accordingly and had a great time. We carried water and snacks and sat down to eat at lunch every day.
We did not do water parks, but the weather was perfect for it. I'm guessing the average September weather would be good swimming weather.

The weather will be "PERFECT" for swimming in September. We loved the pool at Loews Portofino! Practically empty last week of September when we went, no kids, and had the pool almost to ourselves! Have a great time if you choose Orlando.
