My DH says he thought he read somewhere that you couldnt walk down the Strip with an open beer anymore.

Has anyone been there recently and have 1st hand knowledge?

In September, I was in
Vegas and lots of people were walking around with those big plastic cocktail glasses.....

I walked all over Vegas with an open container and no one said a word.

We cant wait until our Feb/Mar Nascar weekend.

I googled and found out that it is legal to have an open container on the strip and downtown Las Vegas.

dandj, I'd call.

I've looked and looked online and cannot find where it is illegal to have an open container on the street.

We even asked and everyone told us it was legal.

Yea, maybe I will call the LVPD and ask..

My sister-in-law went to Vegas at the beginning of November and she keeps talking about walking around with a margarita!

when calling for clarification please take note that most of the Strip is outside of LV city limits while downtown is...well..downtown LV> The city might have a new ordinance that the county does not.

But I can't imagine Vegas proper with an open container law!

The Strip is most certainly NOT within city limits. It is in unincorporated Clark County.

Open containers are still allowed on the Strip - assuming you're walking, that is. They are not allowed in cars.

lgott is correct. The strip is not within the city limits of Las Vegas.

I just called the LVPD.

It is legal to have a open container on the Strip if you are walking.

No open containers in vehicles.
