sistahlou, Belgian flourless cake is fine but I especially love having my cake while the baker and his staff kneel at my feet.

love, Scarlett, pinkie held high...

...served by a bulter with white gloves no doubt...while the other butler fans you with a palm frond, perhaps?

Kal,

tuscanlifeedit,
Maybe people just forget that lots of money only makes them rich. It doesn't make them any of the other things that they were hoping wealth would bring.
I feel a little sad for TravelTess.

Last time a flight attendant fawned on me she told me, "You need to bring your tray table to the upright and locked position".

I immediately zipped it up!

A good friend and her partner retired as FAs with top seniority. They only flew the Paris or Munich route - unless they wanted to go somewhere else. Believe me, those "fawning" FAs have LOTS of stories to tell. Travel divas beware - you are the source of quite a lot of cocktail and dinner party stories - and yes, the butt of many jokes. Good manners go a long way in this world - even in First Class.

I don't want or expect anyone to fawn on me. FA's treat me well because I'm courteous to them. I am happy to be treated well because I am a nice person and not because I have to pay people to treat me with respect.

Scarlett...is that a pinky or are you just happy to see me? :-"

I heard most FAs really enjoy "crop dusting" the 1st class section. amp;

Maybe "Prole Polloi Eloi" has a better ring to it?

I became increasingly concerned yesterday when my fawning FA offered me a dry martini with a ticking olive and a swivel stick.

Congratulations, fellow RN Cheryl! Have a great trip, and enjopyarrival into my easy-to-navigate hometown airport.

Re: SWA, its CEO Herb Kelleher made a point of hiring Vietnam vets long before it was "politically correct" and has supported veterans' projects since.

Google "Southwest Airlines humor" for some good laughs prior to your flight.
