One Romantic Evening - Close to Houston, TX

I'm trying to surprise the hubby and want to get away WITHOUT KIDS for a one night stay somewhere within an hours drive or so from the Greater Houston Area.

Any suggestions? Would like the one night stay to be a Saturday nite.

Thanks!

Had you thought about heading to Galveston? Don't know when you planned to go but a nice B&B would be relaxing. There are quite a few things for you to do- Moody Gardens, the beach, shows, etc.

An hour's drive isn't going to get you too far outside of the Houston area. Other than the advice to try Galveston (my husband and I have had a getaway ourselves at the Tremont Hotel), you might just want to stay in Houston at a nice hotel. Why not stay in one of the new boutique hotels downtown like Hotel Icon? Otherwise, I'd try to go as far as Austin or San Antonio.

If you're looking for only an hour outside of town, I agree that the Treemont in Galveston is a good choice. It's a quite romantic hotel located in the Strand district.

Otherwise, I would choose a nice hotel downtown and do the theatre and dinner.

How about a night on 120 ft yacht...now a B&B permanently moored near the Strand in Galveston. Here's the link for more information...
