Old Town Good Place to Stay?

Hi, am planning early for 2 night stay in December. We do not want to get a car. Old Town seems like a good place because of the trolley. We will have one full day to sightsee. I'm leaning toward Old Town. Other choice would be Holiday Inn on the Bay which is across from the cruise pier. What about Holiday Inn Old Town? Any feedback?

Thanks a bunch!

Judy

You won't need a car as the public transportation is really good in San francisco. Be sure to see Fishermans Wharf.

We stayed (twice) at a Best Western which was right by Old Town. Look at more than 1 room if you can - some are better than others.

We stayed in old Town, loved it.There is great city bus transportation from this area. They have a large central bus stop in this area. We found it very easy to get around. We took a bus to Seaworld from here.
The Food in Old Town was great.
We stayed at the Ramada Old Town and liked it a lot.
Have Fun.
