NYC trendy walking shoes!

Would love to know what New Yorkers are wearing when they hit the pavement! I have visited before in my oh, so trendy heels and boots and always ended up buying bandaids! I want to be comfortable and in style! Any brands or styles you can't do without! I will carry my fun shoes and change for restaurants and my nights out!

Whatever matches your outfit.

But in the winter, for women boots are de riguer. Don't change them; wear them all day.

For men, in Manhattan I'm seeing a lot of casual Aldo shoes, stylish yet as comfortable as a sneaker. And Adidas with skinny jeans as always.

You'll almost always see me on the weekends walking in brown leather riding boots (flat-heeled) with my skinny jeans tucked into the top. If not boots, then usually the same skinny jeans with flats. This is kind of the uniform of the moment for ladies in the city. Tori Burch Reva flats are comfortable and popular right now, and pretty much any brand of riding boots. I love Seychelles as a shoe brand - affordable and incredibly comfortable. You can usually find them at Nordstrom, and occasionally DSW.

There are so many cute sneakers out now that don't look like sneakers (Puma comes to mind). No bandaids needed.

I have a great pair of Prada walking shoes and if not those, Pumas.

On weekends you will almost always see me in my rubber soled Prada walking shoes, Barney's ballet type leather flats, or flat or near flat boots.

Since it's winter, I wear boots pretty much everyday. When I'm not wearing boots, I wear a (comfortable) leather loafer, or my Merrells that look kind of like hiking shoes but are as comfortable as sneakers. And there are plenty of cool-looking sneakers out there now, like the aforementioned Pumas.

Really, wear whatever you want. No one's going to laugh at your shoes.

Boots if it's cold or wet (low ones if you want) but with flat heels. If it's dry any of the cute ballet flats or even the designer athletic shoes (many come in styles like Mary Janes that are pretty and comfy no matter how many miles you walk - Skechers or any of the other name brands). But, please - no giant white clown shoes. Something cute and in a nifty color.

Make sure your shoes have thick rubber soles. Leather soles will soak up wetness and the cold leaving your feet freezing.

Giant white clown shoes are the oversized superthick white sneakers that many adults in the suburbs tend to wear with almost everything except a wedding dress.

If you have giant feet are giant white "clown" shoes then acceptable?

Those of us that don't have giant feet probably won't wear giant white clown shoes either. ick...and not the shoes.

Hi:

Colehan has a line with Nike air technology. I bought a pair at Nordies and wore them all over the city.

I like Geoc's, and my daughter has a couple pairs of Cole Hahn's. FYI, we don't live in NYC. My niece does live there and she wears Ecco's.
