NYC restaurants : unique "funky?" $ 50-$ 75 per person..
Need ideas for Lunch OR dinner.
I am meeting two close friends (middle-aged from mid-west) in NYC first weekend in March.
I would like to take them to an "unusual"
place for dinner.
they tend to shun the usual " fancy tourist" venues and I know my price range knocks out a lot of places !!!
I have done several searches on this site and will consult "menupages"
A seafood only menu would not work but they are open to most anything else...
Any suggestions much appreciated...

>Spice Market- Thai/fusion in the meatpacking district
>Schiller's - trendy, fun but inexpensive lower eastside.

>Artisanal-french brasserie specializes in cheeses. They have a prix fixe $35 dinner.
There are a few places with beds, like Duvet and BED where you can dine in bed. "Unusual" but a bit gimmicky for me.
