NYC for 5 nights 29th dec

Hi folks,

myself and my g/f are travelling from Ireland to NYC to enjoys the trills and spills of whats called the greatest city in the world. We are both in our early 30's and the purpose of the mail is to ask you if theres anything to do in NYC that's not found in travel mags or sites. We have 2 restuarants booked for our stay but any suggestions would be great?

thanks in advance

What you are asking encompasses a wide area considering you did not specify what you like, the restaurants with reservations and how much money you want to spend.

Take a look at Time Out NY, for what may appeal to you.

The greatest bars, restaurants, and sites of New York are well researched by millions and well documented in travel sites. You can chose to avoid those and only go to the places that no one likes or reports on, but why would you want to? Unless a place opened the day before you arrive, it has been well reported if it's wonderful. Why wouldn't it be? And you do realize this IS a travel site, right?

If this is your first trip to NYC, become a tourist and see what tourists see. If it is a long stay, you can find your own special places to see.

We need a lot more information:

1. When are you coming?

2. How long are you staying?

3. Where are you staying?

4. And, most important, what are your interests?

I would say No. Some things, like food tours of Queens, are perhaps not mentioned in as many sources, but a quick Google of virtually any interest or hobby with "NYC" appended will yield results. So my advice is not to stress about find the off-the-beaten-path things and focus on those aspects of New York that seem like must-do's to YOU. Love art? Beer? Shopping? Churches? Theater? History? You can't do it all, but you can tailor your experience to your interests quite easily.

Ooops, the first two of my questions were answered in the OP's title. Still awaiting response to the last two so that we can be of more help.
