NYC dining with 12 yo

Going to NYC this weekend...one 12 year old and two adult women...one of which can't get around well right now due to knee surgery. Looking for moderate GOOD and kid friendly restaurant for Saturday evening. Kid is pretty adventurous. Right now, I have ressies at Ruby Foos. Any other suggestions??

It would help to know where you're starting from if she "can't get around..." and what other sort of food you'd consider. Ruby Foo's is fine, but loud and more like dining at Disney (very touristy) than NYC. Also, is the meal the evening's "entertainment" or are you seeing a show, or???

We'll be in Times Square and yes, we'll be seeing a show afterward.

Well there are dozens of moderately priced restaurants that are kid friendly, esp. for a pre theater meal. John's pizzeria on west 44th is a favorite place with kids. It's in a converted church and there's other food besides pizza.

Le Madeleine is nice French with a glass enclosed garden room. Becco has a $21.95 pasta dinner (3 courses). It would help to know where the theater is or what kind of food you'd like.

The View rest. in the Marriott Marquis has a buffet. Not great food, but wonderful view. Their dessert buffet for $15/person might be a good idea after the show.

My son is NOT very sophisticated and at age 6 1/2 he was fine for a late after-dinner meal at Trattoria dell'Arte.
