North Kauai Restaurant for Wedding Reception

Hello,

My fiance and I are getting married in Princeville next year, but are having problems locating a restaurant to host a reception for 40 guests. Any recommendations of good restaurants on the North Shore?

Maybe the Mediterranean Gourmet in Haena? They have a lovely setting on the beach, seem to be big enough, and the food was really good.

I don't know if they could accomodate you but the BEST most delicious restaurant on the North Shore is Postcards Cafe in Hanalei. It's a small, charming little house but maybe you could rent the place out.

My wife and I just got returned after three weeks on island--our seventh visit.

Probably our least favorite restaurant in Hanalei is Postcards.

Med Gourmet is quite good and would have room for a reception. It's up the coast a bit, which might pose some problems.

I'd certainly look into Bar-a-cuda (sp?) in Hanalei. The food is wonderful, and it specializes in tapas, which might be a ton of fun for a reception.

I'd check with Hanalei Dolphin as well.

Avoid Bouchons, Hanalei Gourmet, and Calypso - okay at best.

I would also look into Mediterranean Gourmet - excellent setting. Hanalei Bay Resort may also be able to do it.

We didn't get into Bar-acuda in Hanalei as it was closed for a private function, so maybe that would be something to try.
Sorry, Cidbob, we loved Postcards, the whole ambience and the food was very very good too. Congratulations to you!

Did you try the St. Regis in Princeville?
Dolphins is another casual alternative in Hanalei.
