One of my favorites...
AYRES HOTEL MANHATTAN BEACH
14400 HINDRY AVENUE
HAWTHORNE CA 90250
1-310-536-0400
No shuttle but it's only 3 miles away, cheap ride by cab.

We always stay at the Doubletree - El Segundo. No airport noise, most comfortable beds, and a really great staff. We've never been disappointed in our stays there.

Surfergirl has it right. Nothing else in the immediate area will compare with the Ritz.

I would NOT recommend the Westin LAX. I had a really bad stay there last month when United bumped me from an international flight.

Has anyone tried the Renaissance or Crowne Plaza recently?
