Nice B&B Within A Few Hours of NYC?
Any suggestions for a nice romantic bed & breakfast located within a few hours of New York City? We'll either be renting a car or taking the train. Would love to find a B&B where there are places to see/things to do within easy walking distance of the B&B. Not so interested in the Hamptons, but other Long Island locations might be okay, as would upstate NY, CT, or NJ.

When are you planning on going? And what sort of budget do you have? and what sort of activities (hiking and outdoor, historic sites, antiquing, museums)?
Many of the B&Bs are really deluxe inns, although there are some more casuale ones.

This may be too far but there's the Bridgeton House. It sits on the Delaware river, beautiful views, Nice restaurants nearby, walking trails, covered bridges, scenic drive
and peaceful.
It is about 90 minutes from NYC in Upper Bucks County PA.

I would rent a car and drive to Cape May, New Jersey. There are dozens of B&Bs and plenty of things within walking distance including shops, restaurants, historic sites and of course the beach.
You can also visit the rest of the Jersey Shore either on the way there or on the way back. Here's a good introduction to Cape May: http://www.MyJerseyShore.com/?page_id=18

Spring Lake, NJ would suit you perfectly and you can get there by train. There are a number of B&Bs and a lovely hotel, The Hewitt Wellington.
