Newport RI -B&B suggestions

Hi.

Looking for a nice B&B in Newport. Doesn't have to be 5 star luxury type but would like something kind of special. $200-250 tops.

Thanks for your suggestions.

My husband and I have stayed here at the Adele Turner and recommend it.

We have also stayed at Castle Hill and it is our very favorite...but is not a B&B...

Thanks steelygirl. I will check out both of your suggestions.

Can you tell me what makes Castle Hill your favorite?

Hi steelygirl!
Great recommendations, but I don't think either is in the $200-250 price range. (Hello to andrew too.)

Thanks everyone.

Guess my budget price was too low but we are going midweek so thought I might be able to do it.

Will check out the gonewport site but really was looking for a personal recommendation.

Hi Royal...Castle Hill has wonderful service and dining and the rooms are quite comfortable and the views are unbelievable; we really enjoy being so close to the water and having the service; that's the very reason we really love it!

We stayed at the La Farge Perry House in April and just loved it.
We were there off season and the rate was $99-don't know what the rate is this time of year. The B&B was very nice-rooms nice size and the bath was great. We had a nice view of the Newport Bridge. You can walk to shopping and restaurants. The innkeeper, Midge, was very nice and helpful-gave many suggestions for restaurants. The breakfast was great and she has cookies and tea out in the afternoon. We would love to go back.

Their sister property is the Chanler
Hotel and you can park there and go for a walk on the Cliff Walk-the Cliff Walk is great.

We have also stayed at Castle Hill, it was amazing! We had our own little bungalow house right near the big rolling lawn and the mansion. It may not be a traditional b&b but I thought it was better and breakfast was included!

The mansion sits on a hill overlooking the harbor. The service is top notch and all the food very good.

Thanks nlg - will check out the LaFarge Perry House as it sounds like what we are looking for.

Also John I did like the gonewport site - seems to cover everything.

Thank you again to everyone who responded.

The Pearls of Newport is a group of renovated B&Bs. They look very nice and upscale and might fit your budget. I have heard from a B&B Owner that this summer has been a bit slow in newport, so you might be able to negotiate a good rate somewhere.

Thanks krissypoo4 - Victorian Ladies looks exactly like what we were looking to find.

We really like the idea of having a room with separate entrance and a deck or garden.

The prices are good too!

Thanks emcash - just saw your post now and will check out.

Everyone has been really helpful.
Thanks.

We stayed at the Victorian Ladies Inn several years ago and it was lovely. However, the location, close to a noisy street, prevented me from getting a good nights sleep. Ask for a room away from the street side if you go.

Yellowbyrd - thanks for that suggestion, will definitely ask for a room at the back of the Inn.

Again - thanks everybody!
