Newark airport hotels?

I am flying from Paris to Orlando via Newark on Sunday and things look pretty dicey right now with Jeanne bearing down...I have a sinking feeling that the flight to Orlando could be canceled. To be safe, I'd like to book a room at a Newark airport hotel. Any suggestions? Nothing fancy, just clean and safe...a Hampton Inn, anything along that line. Or are any the bigger airport hotels (Marriott, Sheraton, etc.) are running week-end specials?
Thanks

Hi BTilke, try looking for hotels in Elizabeth, NJ that are near the Jersey Gardens Mall. It's very close to the airport, and all the hotels in that vicinity were built in the last 2-3 years, so they're newer, cleaner and nicer than some others in Newark. Plus the mall & large movie theatre are right across the street if you need something to do at night. Most have free shuttle service to and from the airport. Trish

Thanks! I went ahead and booked a room at the Best Western by the airport. It looked ok (unless someone has a horror story about the place); I'll just want someplace to hunker down if my flight is canceled. They have a free shuttle and it's very close.
Jeanne looks like it will be hitting central Florida around 2 pm Sunday, so the chances of my flight making it there are looking pretty slim. Better to have a room than be stuck at the airport.
Thanks again.

I wound not plan on getting into Orlando until Monday at the earliest. Storms like Jeanne, will stop ALL air traffic for a few days, so you might make alternative plans for your vacation for at least a couple of days.

Isn't it the end of November YET?

The Wyndham Newark Airport Hotel is surprisingly nice and clean, and has a decent steakhouse/bar on site. There's a free shuttle to the airport. When I stayed there a couple years ago it was $50, now I see it's up to $100 on Expedia. There are other airport hotels that are cheaper, but I've never stayed at them (Ramada Best Western, Four Points by Sheraton, Econo Lodge, Days Inn).
