Hi,

I have a one night layover before I go to Cairns in Auckland. Any good hotels near the auckland airport where I can get some rest for a few hours 7 hours to be exact. I also need a hotel that will pick me up at the airport and drop me off.

I would think they would have day rates but if not ask them who has as I know some around there do.
They have a 24 hour shuttle service.
Don't expect to find anything of great excitement near the airport shopping wise, it is in a low income area and the nearest good shops are at least 20 minutes drive away. The best shopping near the airport is in the airport itself, quite brilliant.

There are loads of airport hotels available to choose from.

When you get to Auckland, there is an information desk at the airport with all the information on the hotels and a freephone to ring them.

All the hotels advertising here offer a free 24 hour shuttle.

I have stayed at a few various places and they all seem to be in the same area, not much around them but other hotels.

I personally use Jet Inn if overnighting before an early flight. If you are looking for a better deal (and who isn't!) check out www.ratestogo.com They have last minute (3 days before) discounted hotel rooms and a couple of the Auckland airport hotels are in that programme.

All the airport hotels have free collection and delivery. The average rate is between $NZ60 and $NZ120/room/night.

We stayed at the Centra Hotel at the airport. It was very nice, and they have a shuttle. Highly recommend it.
