Thanks Ellenem--thinking the Secaucus one is the best option. WIll be calling them today to see what they say about transportation into NYC-- what times do you consider rush hour there so I can try to avoid them Great info!!!

All is good...talked to the front desk of the Secaucus hotel and they say there is a bus stop right out in front that takes you to the NJ transit center and from there a train will take you to 42nd street station. Thanks for all the help

I haven't looked at the info on this website, but it might help you check to see how early/late the bus runs:

There are also a few bus choices nearby that go directly to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan.

I hope you misquoted the hotel front desk. No train from New Jersey goes to a 42nd Street Station. Trains would not be affected by Lincoln Tunnel traffic.

Maps.Google shows a few public transit options depending on the time of day.

Rush hour runs roughly 7-10 AM and 4-7 PM.

Yes I probably didn't hear correctly but did hear the word Port authority and 42nd street as a drop off point. Thanks for the link to the Secaucus website as it was very helpful!!

Sorry - there is no train from NJ to 42nd St. They are either confused or lying.

NJ Transit comes into Penn Station - at 32nd St on the west side. Or there are PATH stations to 34th St or downtown.

There is a bus to the Port Authority Station at 42nd St - but in rush hours - or at all - bus will take longer than train.

In NYC rush hour is 7 to 9:30 am and 4:30 to 7 pm.
