Capri/Amalfi in late April or early Oct?

My bid at a charity event won me two nights in Capri during either April or October. I'll plan a Southern Italy trip around it. My question is, would you go in late April or early October?

In my research so far, I've learned that in late April to early May all of the flowers are in bloom; it's the most beautiful time of year. In early October, the ocean may still be warm enough to swim in.

As these are shoulder months (i.e just before and just after prime time) I'm having a hard time deciding which option is better. Weather is my number one concern.

Is anyone well versed in the area? Which would you pick?

I have done both times and I think it depends if you want to actually want to swim in the ocean? If you do then early October is the better choice. If not, then April is so beautiful and the temps are perfect!

Hi J,

Either.

Lemons are still fruiting, new olive oil, new wine and Porcini mushrooms are available in Oct.

Enjoy your visit.
