Three days in New York
Hi. We will be travelling from Australia to New York via London sometime next year.
Can I get some advice on the best time to visit New York. We will then be going up to Canada, across to Vancouver and a cruise up to Alaska. I believe September could be good.
Cheers Pawsha

September is a very good time. I'd suggest the fall or spring: September, October, May, and June for New York. The summer can get quite hot and humid. For the Alaska part, you will probably still be okay with the weather.

I think you need to look at the cruise dates for Alaska. NYC is really best in May, June and late Sept/Oct. Early Sept can still be very hot and humid. You might be better off earlier in the year (definitely will as far as NYC hotel prices are concerned) since you will be doing the cruise afterwards.

Thanks for your replies. I can now start on my travel plans. When I have worked out how many days we will be spending in NYC, I would like to run our plans past you for some advice

If possible, try to avoid the school vacations. The City was very crowded this week (Easter) and is usually very crowded the Christmas vacation. Today, there were exceptionally long long lines for the Statue of Liberty.
