new orleans restaurants

i am traveling to new orleans in may for my 25 th wedding anniversary. please give me suggestions for excellent cuisine. Price is not a consideration, and we will be staying 6 days. I have already made reservations at Brightsens, and Arnuads, as we have enjoyed meals in the past at these two. Please advise. Thank you so much.

Priebe...

I was in New Orleans last November and had some really great restaurant experiences. Went to 3 of John Besh's restaurants (Domenica, August, and Luke) and loved them all.

If you click on my screen name you can find the trip report I posted about that trip. The title is:

Weekend Restaurant Romp in the Crescent City - a New Orleans Trip Report.

Have a great time!

Commander's Palace
Galatoire's
Emeril's Delmonico
Emeril's
Restaurant August
GW Fins
Brennan's

If you only have to pick one, Commander's Palace is it.

OK, you (and all the other posts I've read) have convinced me --- I just made a reservation at Commander's Palace, despite the jacket "preference" (My DH would "prefer" not to wear one, but he doesn't "refuse"). We'll be there five nights, and now have reservations at Bayona, Commander's Palace, Emeril's and La Foret. The last night is "open" because we may do a day trip somewhere and don't know where we'll be at dinner time.

Priebe, we'll be back before you go (very early May), so I'll post my thoughts when I return.

There are scads of recent, detailed, and very good threads on this very subject. Would strongly recommend a board search. I contributed one lengthy one myself:

If you'll be there on a weekend, my favorite meal at Commander's Palace is the jazz brunch.
