New Hampshire Restaurants I-93
Any suggestions for eating along I-93 between Boston and the White Mountains area of NH? I'd like to stop in Concord or thereabouts on the way up. We will be staying near Woodstock and Lincoln.

If you mean lunch, then In A Pinch Cafe is a great stop. Nothing fancy but they serve great salads, soups and sandwiches. Their second location is in the big brick office building on South Main Street in Concord. Take exit 12 NORTH which puts you on South Main Street/Rt 3A. The building is on your left. Park in the rear/use rear entrance. They are a breakfast/lunch place and close about 3pm. My second choice for an interesting sandwich would be Bread and Chocolate. It's also on South Main St but in the shopping area. You can take exit 13 and head for the downtown area. It will be on your right. Wonderful pastries. Sandwiches are pre-made on their wonderful bread. Parking is difficult right now because of construction. If you want Thai food, Siam Orchid on North Main St is great. Take exit 14 and turn left. It's on the corner opposite the Holiday Inn. In the general vicinity is the Barley House. If you want dinner in the evening, 55 Degrees in also on Main St - more of a wine bar with pricey small plates. If you want more of a casual place, Cheers on Storrs Street is decent. Also on Storrs Street, Hermanos for Mexican. Storrs Street runs parallel to Main Street between Main and the river. If you want chains, there's a Unos at exit 14. If you turn right and go up the hill (Loudon Rd) you'll find a variety of chains. If you want simple, quick and casual, we like Beefside on Manchester St (take exit 13 and turn right up the hill).
There's a new barbecue place in tiny Boscawen a bit north of Concord. The Smoke Shack doesn't have inside seating yet but has picnic tables. It's pretty good. Take exit 17 and turn right.

Wow, DFrost, that's a comprehensive list! I, too, LOVE Bread and Chocolate, especially their roast beef and boursin on oatmeal. Yum! Can't wait for the construction to be done. There is also a Panera on Ft. Eddy Road, just a little further down from Uno (Exit 14).
I think another popular and convenient stop for more of a "sit down" is the Common Man. That's also Exit 13 toward Downtown. After you start rolling it's just on the right. I always seem to have bad luck there (poor service or cold food, etc), but everybody else I know loves it. It is very convenient to the highway.
At any rate, Betcbw, if you Exit at 13 and turn left to head downtown, you will drive along Main St., right through the thick of things, and have your choice of several cafes, pizza places, and casual restaurants, most of which DFrost has mentioned. If you continue along Main St., you will come to Loudon Road. Turn right at this corner, and you'll be back to Rt. 93 at the Exit 14 interchange, and can hop back on. Have fun!
