Latest reviews on tripadvisor are good. Sounds like renovations are complete and maybe recent takeover by Doubletree has been a good thing. Location terrific.

Excellent location, we stayed there pre-renovation. I am currently trying to find 3 rooms to accomodate 2 couples (no kids) and 1 couple with kids - mind if I ask where you got a great rate?

we got the great rate from doubletree reservations{opening special} the hotel number is 212-752-7000-they will connect you. how was it pre-renovation? it gets pretty mixed reviews before doubletree took over. was it quiet?

I never had any problem pre-renovations, although many did. Our room was clean, and the staff was great. Several people mentioned noise from the nearby police station, but honestly, it was not a problem. I would think that with Doubletree taking over it would be an excellent experience all around. Thank you for sharing the information about where your found your rate, I appreciate it!

Nanette I had mentioned on another thread yesterday that I saw a rate of $119/night for it in early Jan on Hotels.com and lowtels.com.

no-this is a renovated older hotel. i think only rooms-not like the doubletree suites in time square. we are concerned about the size of the rooms and noise from the street. from the pictures they look tiny-reservations said rooms were around 250 sq ft.

Just got back from the Doubletree. YOu have nothing to worry about, your rate is wonderful and you will love the hotel. Just ask for a king bed, the queen's are very small.
