need A/C in Maui in January?

hello!

I'm planning a trip to Maui the first week of January 2005. Several condo's and B&B's I've looked at do not offer A/C (but have ceiling fans). How critical is it to have A/C that time of year (concerned primarily for the nighttime sleeping conditions)?

Thanks!

Ceiling fans are adequate, especially if you're directly on the ocean. There are a few places away from the coast that officer a/c, but it really isn't necessary

I agree with MinnieNo1
We've been in winter and summer, the first couple of days took some getting used to but after that it was fine just using the fans

Depends on what you're used to. I can't stand humidity. I'm a winter person so I absolutely need A/C in a tropical climate. Others may not. It will be humid there all year.

We didn't have a/c in our condo in July. We had fans and it was right on the ocean though. It was fine at night.
