narrated boat tour
I read about a narrated boat tour at sunset up the Colorado river near Moab. Now I can't remember where I read about it. Has anyone done that and if so can you tell me where I can find out about it.

You are probably thinking of the Canyonlands by Night tour. They take you out at sunset and flash slights on the canyon walls. You can see the same views by driving Hwy 128. I've never done this trip, but haven't heard anyone who has rave about it yet.

I haven't done it myself, but have been camping on the river when tey come by. They have a truck towing a huge spotlight with a generator that follows ahead of the raft. The canyon walls are lit and they have a narration. It sounded really cheesy to me.
Just do a raft trip in the day. Much better and you can see much more!

You are in for a BIG treat! Have a good trip!!!
While in Moab, I would drive out Hwy 128 to Fisher Towers. It's a very scenic byway. Also take the Potash road Hwy 279 along the Colorado River going west out of town. Beautiful drive and look for the petroglphs on the canyon walls.

We did the Canyonlands by Night boat trip 2 years ago with our family - save your money. We were very disappointed and it wasn't worth the money we spent. They shine the spotlight on the canyon walls and point out different formations, then have a very hokey musical number. It was nice to be on the water at night, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.
