Naples Hotel help needed

We are planning a 60th anniversary trip for my parents over Memorial Day Weekend. There are 15 of us ranging in age from 16-86, with most of the family in their late 20s or 50's. We were thinking of either the Naples Beach Hotel and Golf Club, La Playa or Naples Grande. We like the beach and choices of activities. What do you think?

Naples Beach club would be good for a big family group. The niceset rooms are in the watkins building. It has a nice dining area right out at the beach. It is not the best food but it is the best view.

Naples Grande is a fancier hotel. Good location too with a tram to the beach and a nice pool area.

Both of these hotels are in a good location for going to dinner on 3rd or 5th in Naples which has a great atmosphere.

La Playa is much farther north. I havent stayed at the property but it is out of the way for spending much time in old naples.

I just finished 5 nights @ the Naples Grande. It used to be the Registry Resort but has been modernized w/ a fairly stark lobby. The pool area was great. There is a .8 mi. boardwalk through the mangroves to the beach. It is a great beach but there was a huge pipe out there & some pretty smelly stuff was being pumped out of the wetland onto the beach. This is a beautiful part of the "Shell Coast" of Fla.

You can't go wrong with any of these, but I like the idea of the Naples Beach Club as it's the only one near "downtown" and offers more other opportunities. Will you have cars? I'd think you could even "rent" the trolley to take you all to dinner somewhere -- not that expensive if you're sticking in olde Naples. Lots of groups do that. I'd agree that you would be better generally eating elsewhere than at the Beach Club. And while the food is good at the other two places you mention, there are so many other restaurants that are so much better and so much less expensive.
