We had a very nice dinner at Tarpey's Roadhouse several weeks ago. It is located right next to Ventana Vineyards where you can wine taste.

Sardine Factory is also very good, there are 3 different rooms from which to choose from. The sand dabs were excellent. I had the Fixed Price meal which included 3 courses.

In Carmel, Bouchee and Pacific's Edge are excellent choices. You will have beautiful views at Pacific's Edge. Little Napoli is also great for Italian and Casanova is another one we like in Carmel. Roy's is also very good. Have fun! ***kim***

Ummm...Kimamom...ummm...Ventana Winery's vineyards are not next door to Tarpy's. They have a tasting house at Tarpy's but their vineyard is located just outside of Gonzales. Tarpy's food is dreadful, by the way, as is their service.

Sardine Factory? Yes...nice over-priced tourist trap, indeed.

In the Carmel Barnyard, Bahama Billy's in a fun place for lunch. Think "comfort food meets tropical fare". Also for lunch, in downtown Pacific Gove there's the Red House cafe. Also Toastie's cafe there if you want breakfast which I think they also serve at lunchtime. I like First Awakenings for breakfast/ lunch in the American Tin Cannery outlets also in PG, but close to the MB aquarium.

LOL TravelTess,
I've likened what you've done in this thread to being a pooper scooper in Portland's Rose Festival Parade. Some posters ya just have to clean up after.

Beachbum--I was thinking of you with that analogy and the parade coming up soon, lol! Looks like TTG now gets to deal with the krazy.

No kidding Beachbum. Sab, yes, it was due to the disabled business...the city wouldn't pay to fix the building - they own it. The owners of the restaurant kissed their 25 year business good-bye. When this happened to Clint Eastwood at his Mission Ranch property years ago, he fought them in federal court and won. In case you don't know, these cases are brought on by sleazy lawyers to make some bucks. And they wonder why people hate lawyers....

The Fish House on Del Monte and Casa Verde is excellent. It opens for dinner at 5 PM and by 6 PM there is already a wait. They accept reservations but you still end up waiting for your table. The place is small, the food outstanding. They offer a big variety of fresh fish dishes. Go early and enjoy.
