Mendocino weather in fall
Hi
We are planning a trip to Napa/Sonoma and Mendocino around Halloween. Will the weather in Mendocino still be dry/warm at that point? I am under the impression that the coast starts getting pretty wet in October.
Thanks

Not wet -- the rainy season really doesn't start until Dec and then REALLY in Jan/Feb.
Fall is the very best time of year on the coast. By the end of Oct it can start getting cool/brisk -- but should still be quite nice.
Anything is possible of course -- but major rain storms in Oct aren't that likely.

Indeed, but it looks like it's going to rain all weekend in Mendocino. Considering there doesn't seem to be much to do in Mendo that doesn't involve being outdoors, not sure it's worth the trip. An hour of hiking in the rain is OK, a whole weekend of it doesnt sound fun.

You're fortunate that you can change your plans on such short notice. It does look like Northern California will be enjoying showers and unsettled weather this weekend.
This is not uncommon for this time of year. The first storms often come in during the latter part of October. As you can see from the rainfall chart below, the rainy season in Mendocino begins in October and ends in May:

We go up to the North Coast quite often in late fall and winter. The rain doesn't bother us unless it's a full fledged storm. In fact, we find the area more appealing in the rainy season than in the dry and foggy summer.
Just find a nice room with a fireplace and enjoy the ambiance and fine food in the nearby restaurants. If you get bored looking at the ocean, head inland and tour the wineries in Anderson Valley.
