Definitely check the weather reports before you come to see what sort of storms are brewing off the coast. Generally though, like with any trip to the CA coast any time of year, layers are your best bet because the weather will be variable. In the winter, make sure your outer layer is rain proof and pack an umbrella. You wont need anything heavy like a parka or down coat. A rain coat with a couple layers under should serve you well.

Welllllp..It sure has been raining alot lately, so it will probably be lovely in March. With a good Feb rainy season, March is often lovely..or uhh, possibly still a bit rainy. Nice eaither way, but bring a sweater and a light rain gear.

We went the last week of march last spring. I had a light wool jacket and some sweaters. The weather varied from 50's to low 60's. It can get chilly when the wind blows. Some days I wore the jacket and some only needed a sweater. The weather was pretty good the week we were there with only a few sprinkles.
