Michelle, The Mayflower in Ct.? you won't be sorry. My sister and brother-in-law are regulars, at least 2 times a year- it's an ideal respite in the fall which is when I was tehre (2 years ago)- service is tops, facilities beautiful and the area is lovely.

We live close enough to dine at the Mayflower Inn and have done so on several occasions over the last 10 years or so. Since you are thinking of holding a wedding reception at the Inn, I will tell you that I have never had a bad meal there. It is really a wonderful location and for Connecticut, kind of in the middle of nowhere. The grounds and gardens are beautiful. You can get a preview of what the buildings and rooms are like from their website www.mayflowerinn.com. Although I have always found the restaurant to be quite reasonable, the inn is VERY expensive. Rooms start at $400/night, suites at $650. Needless to say, you will need to tell your overnight guests to "bring money" when they come. That being said, the inn is an ideal place to have a wedding reception and you may be able to negotiate lower prices if you book a block of rooms (doesn't hurt to ask).
