Maui Accomodations

My wife and I are taking our first trip to Hawaii. I first booked a room at the Sheraton but now I am booked at Lahaina Shores. I will have a rental car so I can really stay anywhere. We are looking for a quiet place (we both are in our early 50's). It would need to be a hotel since I don't want to have my wife having to do anything that resembles housework on vacation. Any suggestions ?

We stayed at the Lahaina Shores and were quite pleased. We walked to just about everything we wanted to see or do in Lahaina, and of course drove to Hana and the resorts from north to south on the west side. We did pick up breakfast things at the grocery but for the most part, we ate out.

I stayed at the Lahaina Shores, you're close to everything, and can pretty much walk to dinner, and what have you. Don't forget about the other things to do on the island. Enjoy and have a blast, it's beautiful there! Wish I was going. Below is a site for some research:

Oh don't forget to go see the sugar canes.

Lahaina Shores has some excellent accommodations. I forget the exact prices, but the units were nice the last time I was there. Here are some more Hotels to review.

Make sure to book on the South or West side. Most of the hotels on the North side are really awful. People usually see the prices in Kahului and get excited. Don't fall for it!

Have you considered a B and B? We just stayed in one in Kihei...about 40 minutes from Lahina though.
