Hawaii Gold Card Worth It?

Has anyone bought the Hawaiian Gold Card http://www.goldcard.hawaiifun.org/go...ACTIVITIESPAGE
or the Entertainment Coupon Book for Hawaii? Are either worth it?

That question is impossible to answer without knowing what you plan to see and do.

I personally would not have a use for one.

I will be a first time visitor to Hawaii and will be there for a week only in Oahu. So as a tourist would it be worth it? We plan on going to a luau and possibly a sunset cruise and of course plan on eating out for every meal. Does this help>?

I'd highly recommend the Entertainment book. It's price is $15 right now & will probably get to $9.99 by May or June. Lots of coupons for savings on Oahu.

We saved a bunch with ours 3 years ago.

Check out their website - they show examples.

Dusty is there much difference between the Gold Card and the booklets you can get all over like Oahu Gold and This Week which both have coupons? We also found coupons online for shops at Aloha Tower Marketplace and others.

There are a lot of coupons in the free brochures. Many of them are the same.

The big problem with waiting until someone gets to Hawaii & using the coupons in the free brochures is that some attractions or restaurants need advanced reservations. Or you might have to go to an attraction or restaurant on a different day than you want to.

Entertainment Book has a Polynesian Cultural Center coupon. That alone pays for the book.

I'm sure the Gold Card is the same. There will be some offers in the Gold Card that won't be in the free brochures.

While we are on the subject:

You can read the entire 'This Week On Oahu' (also other islands) online including the coupons available:

www.thisweek.com

Free coupons:

www.valpak.com
Use 96815 for zipcode

www.ecouponshawaii.com

www.entertainment.com/freetrial
Use 96815 for zipcode
You can print three free coupons (and if you have a 2nd computer....). Not all of the coupons in the book are available on the free trial. You have to use the printed coupons within 14 days of printing.
