Luxury Ski lodging in Northeast?

Hi, my husband (okay, I) am planning a meeting/trip for 10 employees and he wants to host it at a high end resort/inn/lodge within 5 hours driving distance of NYC...I'm thinking of the Equinox in VT, but I'm looking for more suggestions as availability is limited.

The Woodstock Inn has no availability.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hmmmm, other than the 2 you've mentioned, you could try Mohonk Mountain Lodge (though my husband insists it *isn't* luxurious), Gurney's off-season could be nice (they have a spa), Norwich Inn & Spa in CT.

As long as it doesn't have to be Vermont, you should try the Balsams, the Mt. Washington at Bretton Woods, and The Mountain View; all are luxury resorts and skiing is either on site or very close by.

Sorry, Nina. Your title said ski lodging, but you didn't mention that you plan to ski in your message.

Thanks Vallobrossa, I forgot about the balsams and Mt. Washington, thanks!

I booked at the Equinox since we stayed at the Orvis Inn last year and absolutely loved it, but the reviews on tripadvisor are dreadful. I'm wondering if there's that much difference between the Equinox and Orvis Inn? Anyway, I put in a call to the manager and am waiting for a c/b.

Lisette, I guess I just assumed that if I said I wanted ski lodging the intent is that we'll be skiing.

Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe would be a good choice.

There are lots of places in Stowe VT. Another place besides Trapp Family Lodge is Topnotch. I've stayed at both and think that they're both top notch!
