Luxor Hotel
Has anyone been to this hotel and had a really nice standard room and can remember the room number please post it. If you could let me know weather it was towers.....which one.... or the pyramid. Please help if you can would be much appreciated. This was given to us a gift,we usually stay at Mirage and we don't much about this property.

Just stayed there in March and stayed in the pyramid - don't know about any tower. Rooms were clean and definitely nice enough. Not too many extra frills but for what you need in Vegas I thought it was a good deal.
The casino is not good and the sports book is antiquated with handwritten (not digital) odds, scores, etc.
But everyone is nice and waitresses really attend to the sports book well (unlike Mandalay, Paris, Bellagio, Hard Rock, etc.)
For casino, we gambled at Mandalay and loved it. Just a 5 minute walk indoors from Luxor and owned by same people. I would stay there again.

The Tower is pretty sweet -- although a little far from the main reception area. Our room had 2 queens; room had shower and separate tub. Room were pretty sizeable. Nice interior (4* - 5* if located in another city). The pool is really nice. Have also tried Mandalay, and I think Luxor gives excellent value.

Stayed in the Tower's at the Luxor two years ago and it was very good. The walk to our room was a bit, but the bathroom alone was huge and the bathtub irresistable. We has two queens in the room, and plenty of room. I have heard that the pyramid only has showers in the rooms, no tubs.
We used the monorail to get to Mandalay bay and to the Excalibur, but you can walk to Excalibur within the hotel.
Hope this helps.

Rita - Unfortunately I had a different experience at the Luxor. We initially started with a room in the pyramid and had a problem with ants in our room. The hotel upgraded us to a suite in the towers for our trouble. Not sure I would take my chances again with the bugs, but we did enjoy the rest of the trip and our room in the towers. I would stay in the towers if I were to do it again.

Stayed at the Luxor in April ($59 weekdays) and thought it was fine. The hotel room was in the pyramid and was pretty standard (though I remember thinking the bathroom was nice). I thought it was very quiet even though we were on the third floor directly above the casino. Since it was on the south end of the Strip, we had to walk everywhere. This was ok with us but some people might not like it.
I think most of the rooms on the Strip are fine but it removes all doubt when you tell everyone you stayed at the Luxor - it has to be the easiest hotel to identify in Vegas.
