The Tower rooms are larger and easier to get into and out of--but there's no novelty to the rooms, of course. The waits for the inclinators can get long. Can take quite a long while to get from the entrance of the casino to your room in the pyramid.
All the pyramid rooms have views.
You'd prefer a view of the Strip over the mountains if given a choice.

If you read the post about the Flamingo vs the Luxor, you can see that we were quite pleased with the Luxor. Do try and get a tower room - they are quite luxurious. The 'must see' is the re-creation of Tutenkhamen's tomb - well worth the small admission fee. We ate at the buffet one night - it was good, but not great. There was usually a live band playing at the lounge, the lounge was comfortable, and the waitresses weren't constantly trying to push drinks.Since we are not gamblers, I can't comment too much on the casino other than we broke even on the slots. The Egyptian decor throughout the entire hotel is very impressive. The Luxor is a great deal for the money.

Have stayed at the Luxor, Treasure Island (TI), Bellagio and LV Hilton. All were very nice. The Luxor is my husband's favorite just because of the novelty. The room was fine. I agree about the tower room but having stayed in both, we weren't dissappointed either way.
I also agree that the lounge is nice with live entertainment - but the same show every night so don't be afraid to hop around.
Come on BIG MONEY!
