Old Lahaina Luau on Maui is often regarded as the best. I went and enjoyed it but I have nothing to compare it to. Food was decent but not great. Show was good.

I like Paradise Cove luau the best for location and activities. Plus the show.

We enjoyed the Feast at Lele - it's run by the same folks that do the OLL. Food, atmoshphere, entertainment etc. was all fantastic!

We just got back from a trip to maui and kauai and went to the Old Lahaina Luau. It was fantastic. It is not one of those tacky touristy luau's with fire eating. It is an authentic luau that has a great presentation with a historical twist. It has been voted best luau in Hawaii, and I see why. The food was fantastic, the people were friendly, everything was tasteful and classy.

I don't think that I am a'food snob' but there is NO WAY I would consider the food at the Old Lahaina Luau to be fantastic. It was passable buffet food at best!

Jomale, ALL commercial luaus are tacky and touristy and no self respecting Hawaiian would be caught at one. There is nothing wrong with that as most tourist attractions are tacky, but don't let yourself be fooled into believing that there is anything authentic about commercial luaus.

I've been to every luau on Oahu and Maui (I was the entertainment/leisure editor of a newspaper there for three years) and I liked Old Lahaina Luau the best. Needless to say, however, I don't intend to ever go to a luau again!

Nobody goes to a luau for the food, LOL.

Overall, I like the low key approach at Old Lahaina Luau. The others seem very cheesy in comparison.

I have been to almost every luau on Kauai and Maui; I much prefer a lovely dinner at a top restaurant over the luau experience. Maybe a nice evening at House Without A Key in Waikiki....aaaaahhhhhh....

But I understand that visitors are hellbent on attending a luau. You would certainly have a memorable evening at the OLL on Maui...that is my pick.
