Lodging/parking while visiting NYC

Senior citizen couple will be visiting NYC for a few days in July. Have read some threads on the subject and would like to stay in a NYC hotel but don't think that will be possible since we are pulling a 12 ft utility trailer with our motorcycle on. Am sure that NYC hotel parking is very limited - if it exists at all!! Anyone know of a vehicle storage lot where we could safely leave the trailer?
#2. Is there a good reasonably priced tour of the city? Thought we might do that one day and then go back on our own to some places.
Any advice is appreciated

I think finding parking for car, trailer and motorcycle will be a problem. Places outside the city (Long Island City, near PATH trains in NJ) that I would ordinarily recommend just don;t have that type of parking facility.

I think you will need to look for a hotel with room for all your stuff and suburban area and make that the first step in your search. There might be something in Secaucus - but you need to be sure the place can take all your stuff and also has a shuttle bus to the train or the local bus - otherwise you could be an hour or more from the city - and need to pay for a very expensive taxi back after commuting hours.

I am strongly against standard city tours - since you tend to spend an awful lot of time sitting in traffic watching locals going to work or doing errands - versus actually seeing sights. IMHO much better to pick out the few things you will have time to see and head straight for them.

Call this hotel and ask. They are the only ones in Manhattan with free parking. It's worth a call -

They have free parking for a car. Can't imagine they would give multiple spaces for free. And the garage may not be tall enough to allow a trailer. (Many garages are limited to vehicles s=lower than 7.5 feet.)

I understand that, nytraveler. That is why I suggested a phone call.

Google NY Parking Garages and call a couple of them and see if they can accomodate you. (Isnt that some long trailer for a motorcycle?)
