Lodging near Bucks Cty., Pa.

We will be attending a wedding the weekend of Labor Day in Bucks Cty. I am looking for inexpensive lodging for 2 adults in the surrounding area with littlw success. Any suggestions?

Bucks County is huge-- I may be able to help if you could be a little more specific about the area of the wedding. There's everything from B&B's to chain motels, but again, depends on the location you'll be in.

I believe the reception is to be held on or in the New Hope area. If you could help, San ,that would be great. Thanks!

Just got back from an overnight in New Hope - we stayed at the Best Western New Hope - nice grounds, good pool, tennis court (not so good) restaurant terrace overlooking pool for drinks/meals, playground for kids. Rooms are standard motel - rates for a summer weekend - (AAA rate) $152 (!!!) for king size - maybe you can do better in Sept. DO NOT GET QUEEN SIZ BED ROOMS - they are small and face the parking lot.

Also drove by "The Motel in the Woods" - which both my husband and our friends simultaneously pronounced a "norman bates kinda place." But maybe the funky looking cabins are nice inside?

Sorry I can't be more helpful - New Hope is very touristy and overpriced - the surrounding towns are pretty close, especially Lambertville, NJ - if you can find reasonable lodging there, go for it, I think.

We had good meals in Lambertville - a very nice French provencal place called Manon and good breakfast at Full Moon - excellent omelets.
Have fun!

Hi Peg! The Warrington Motor Lodge is 20 to 30 minutes from New Hope and they have rooms in September starting at $105.00. Their website is at:

http://thewarrington.com/lodging.html

Another site with various B&B's and other lodging near New Hope can be found at:

http://www.newhopepennsylvania.com/lodging.html

The Inn at Lambertville Station is across the Delaware River from New Hope and its site can be found here:

http://www.lambertvillestation.com/inn.html

Here's info I found on "New Hope Motel in the Woods" which m mentioned: "New Hope Motel in the Woods 400 W. Bridge St., New Hope 18938; Rte. 179, 3/4 mile from downtown New Hope. (215) 862-2800. 28 units on five wooded acres. Pond and outdoor porches, color cable TV, phones and private bath in each room. Two night minimum weekends; three night minimum holiday weekends. Pool in season. No pets."

Hope some of this may be helpful.

New Hope and surrounding areas have plenty of charming B&B's that range in price. Try doing a google search on New Hope for more info.
