Lodging near Atlanta Airport

I'm looking for a clean, SAFE place to stay near the airport. I'm travelling alone and am not familiar with the area. Thanks.

Is your business in Atlanta near the airport? I wouldn't stay by the airport unless absolutely necessary. Downtown, Midtown, or Buckhead would be much better and safer options.

There are lots of hotels that are safe to stay around the airport by yourself-most have shuttles to and from. There is everything from the College Park area which I don't really like but has a Holiday Inn,Ramada etc. to places like a Westin,Wingate or Marriott. Whats your price range?

There is a Courtyard and Residence Inn side by side that share a shuttle service to the airport. They are safe hotels. I wouldn't leave the hotel and walk around, but you are safe at the hotels. Better yet the Renaissance is a very nice hotel, isolated from residential that also has shuttle service. Again, don't leave the hotel, but this one is very nice and safe inside.

Thanks for your replies. My business is actually in Chattanooga TN, and I am coming down to Atlanta Airport Sat evening to catch a flight on a Sunday morning. I don't necessarily have to stay at the airport hotel, if there are other hotels within a short driving distance (say about a half hour), that would be safer. price: under $150.

You can get great deals on Priceline if there are only 1 or 2 of you. Check www.betterbidding.com to check out the hotels and prices to bid.

I'm likely too late, but many of my coworkers stay at the Marriott, Westin, Hilton, or Embassy Suites in that order. There are options for dinner/drinks within a ten minute drive to either Virginia Avenue or Camp Creek Parkway.
