LilMsFoodie,

It's hard to find the words to express how sorry I am for your loss. I can only remember how awful it was to loose my dear mother so suddenly almost two years ago. Until you've been through it, you can't explain the feeling.

Time, however, IS the great healer. Everyone said it was and I did not believe it at the time. Each day gets a little easier; at some point you will be able to speak of him without the tears but with a smile for all that he meant to you.

Hospice is a wonderful organization. My mother's death was not expected and the first contact we had with them was through grief counseling for my teenage daughter. Once the next few hectic weeks are behind you, please take care of yourself and if not through Hospice, find someone to help you through the rest of it.

God bless.

LilMsFoodie...

You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am so very sorry for your sudden loss of your husband. I cannot imagine your distress, but wish you all the best as you endeavor to continue on.

Though I would guess no words can possibly ease your grief at the moment, but I want to thank seetheworld for "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."

I have read your responses since I first posted on Saturday. It seems forever since then. Thank you to you all for your thoughts and prayers. It means more than you can imagine.

The internet is very strange in that I feel that I know many of you even though I have met only a tiny few. It is an anonymous forum but also strangely intimate in the ways that we can share so many ideas , hopes, dreams of the perfect trip, and extrapolating: a better life.

My life changed radically this past Saturday and I do not know what lies ahead. I will miss my husband very much but have great comfort in the memories of the trips we had together. Our trips together, whether simple and insignificant or grand and wonderful, were a big part of our life together. They are an integral part of our life as a couple and will be in my heart always.

Thank you so much for your thoughts. I am truly moved.

LilMsFoodie,

I hope that you've been able to return home. It has to to be so much more comfortable at this time.

Though Ivan did hurt another part of the world, I'm glad it missed yours. You've had enough of a burden to bear.

Please keep posting and know that the rest of us are still praying for you.

Sharon, I've been wondering how you are doing, as well. Actually, you were on my and DH's minds the other night as we were conversing about your sudden loss. We hope that all is as well as can be expected. Please check in when you have time.

My thoughts are with you. I can only imagine what a hard time you are going thru.

I tried working a little today and came home to be quiet for a while. It is comforting to read this thread.

LMF, an awful lot of people are thinking about you this week. May I say that my partner had a scare recently, and I know the life we are leading will help. Your words are helping people you will never know. A good life, some memories, and some thoughts and prayers help. LMF, something tells me you have a lot of guts too, and feeling, and that will get you through this part of life. And you are not alone.

LMF - Sincerest Condolances! I am not sure what happend but it sounds like you are getting a lot of spiritual support from the board with an impressive list of supporters. I am sorry to say that I know the shock and pain of loss. Here I am 6 months later and realizing that time does help heal day by day. You will understand this the first morning you wake up and you are not already crying. Once again, my deepest sympathy to you and your family.
