Jersey Boys vs, Elvis Cirque du Soleil?

Have you seen them? Which did you like better?

I can only speak on Elvis, but we loved the show. We've seen most of the Cirque shows and a number of others. While not the best show we've seen Vegas it was very fun & entertaining.

I was chatting with a friend the other night and mentioned my upcoming trip to Las Vegas and that we were seeing Jersey Boys...she smiled and said she has seen it twice, LOVED it both times. It has never played here in our city so she has driven 3 hours and 4 hours to see it.

Before going to Las Vegas last fall, we browsed video previews of the Cirque shows. You can see the one for Elvis here
http://tinyurl.com/3r8q8dc to get an idea if you'd like it. We didn't pick it.

We did see Jersey Boys however and loved it, or I should say, LOVED it.

I am not a fan of musicals. I took my mom to see Jersey Boys as a Christmas gift and I LOVED it! It is terrific

Good choice: have seen JB twice (once in Vegas, once on Broadway). If you are of a "certain age" and remember the music, there is nothing like it.

I have been to several Cirque shows and they are hard to compare/contrast with this production.

Our trip is 7/26. We've been there before at that time of year so we know it will be hot, hot, hot!

We do like the Cirque shows but are ready for a change. I am of the age that I know I will love it, but I wasn't sure if my daughter would like it. She said she would. We're there for her business for only 3 nights so 1 show will be enough. The other 2 nights will be leisurely dinners.

I'll let you know how we liked it when we return.

Cirque du Soleil shows are terrific - very innovative and entertaining.
But, there is NO comparison to Jersey Boys.
If you could see only one - it should definitely be Jersey Boys!!!

We leave a week from tomorrow, 3 nights also (Sat-Sun-Mon). DD is going too, and I had the same concerns that she might not want to see JB, but she was cool with it and I think she will really like it.

I'm so glad I listened to the Fodorites.

We loved Jersey Boys. The music and songs of the Four Seasons we expected to be good, but the story and humor was a delightful addition.

"Oh What A Night"---"Who Loves You Pretty Baby"---"Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You", etc. will be going through my head for weeks and weeks!

Terrific. I'm glad that you gave us a follow-up note. I LOVED it when all of a sudden, we were backstage - what a cool staging effect that was.

The night that we went, they weren't busy and they moved people from the cheap seats in the balcony down to the main floor.
