The lights really work for some people - but they have to be the real thing - ones sold at mass marketers are usually not. They have to be full spectrum high enough intensity. (there is some measurement called lux light that I have no idea what it is)

They generally require special boxes, not just light bulbs you screw into regular lamps. The boxes are big, and not all that attractive. They used to say that one needed to sit in front of the lamps for 30-60 minutes in AM, but more recent studies have suggested any time is OK.

I have one that I bought thru the mail many years ago - so I can't really give specific suggestion where to buy it.

It only works if I can take the blankets off my head, drag myself out of bed and sit in front of it. I have it set up by my computer - if I use it regularly it really is effective.

That, lots of caffeine, and a February trip to someplace sunny just marginally gets me thru Boston winters.

Good luck finding a sunny adventure! Are you sure you don't mean "non-stop flight"? Direct flight in the airline business means it will stop from point A to point B.

I looked at flights to PHX as I have a condo there but prices are crazy this weekend as its a three day MLK holiday for many.

DH is going to Houston and DS is going to South Carolina this weekend so maybe they can call and describe sunshine to me.

I'm going to try to plan something for Pres. Day in Feb. I'm pretty sure I can hold out that long!

I'm going to the beach, going to the beach! Manhattan Beach that is. And don't tell me it might not be sunny and warm. It will be warmer and sunnier than where I am now.
