It was a Dark & Stormy Night...

Where can we go to escape this 117 degrees heat?? The Gods are making me crazy! Anyplace where I should vacation in the south west corner of USA that is cooler?

It's in the mid-90s in my part of New Mexico at the moment, if that helps.

Anyplace along the California coast from San Diego to San Francisco. It has been very hot inland in the San Diego area but the beaches have been nice for the most part. Central and Northern California should be cooler.

It was 104 in St. Louis, now it is still 100 @6:30pm
I want to go to Northern Michigan and feel the cool lake breezes in my face, have a bon fire to keep warm and .....
I kept cool today by going to the movies with my son. We saw Bad New Bears. It had so much profanity in it...I couldnot believe it! Horrible movie...

88 degrees but feels like 102 in Michigan on the lake. I'm sitting here looking out on the lake and there are hardly any boats out - it's too hot to even be on the water!

Forget about northern California. Just talked to my brother in Sonoma County. It's over 100 and he's going to order pizza..too hot to bar-b-que. I guess if you went out on the bay somewhere it would be fine.

...and don't think about Atlanta! Huuumidddd and in the mid 90s! You know it's bad when everyone is hanging out in the produce cooler at Costco and don't want to get out!

I think everyone is having a heat wave. I know it's been hot in Northern Calif also but usually if you stay right by the coast it's pretty nice. The last few weeks in the San Diego and Orange County areas it has been very hot inland but some days at the beach were even cloudy.

Here in the south SF Bay area, it's 66? in our back yard at this very moment. We'll sleep under a blanket (or two) tonight. Hottest day of the year so far was yesterday, when the temp reached 90? and the heatwave made the front page of the local paper.

Uh-oh. Those two ? should be degree symbols. Option+k on a Mac makes a degree symbol in Word, but not here!

Oh Betsy, you just gave me an idea. Maybe I should go down to DalyCity and stay with the family that lives there, LOL. The heat in the Sacramento Valley is getting to me quite frankly.
Triple diget temps are a bit much although I feel fortunate that we don't have the real high humidity as so many peope do so I try not to whine about our heat to much. At least not more then once an hour. Take care.

Another vote for the California Coast. Five miles inland, it may be in the 90's, but here at the coast it has been a very pleasant 70-80.

It's been well into the 90's here in Ontario Canada too. With the humidex, several days over +100.

Our weather guy on the T.V. even tells us the days we are hotter than Miami! ;-)

A shot rang out!

A door slammed!

A scream ensued!

Captain Forsythe didn't know what to make of the apparent mess. However when.......

IT'S RAINED ALL DAY.

So GLAD, as we need some water.

We have not been this hot for so long in Chicago and on such a consistent basis. The last 5 summers it hardly got to 90 for more than a few hours.

I love Chicagoans to pieces. Within a crowd of 38,000 at 104 degrees for more than 5 hours, I honestly did not hear one whine. We love winter too.
