New Mexico or San Diego
Hello,
I'm trying to decide on where to take a late August vacation (2 adults and 2 kids ages 9 and 7).
We will be trying to escape the heat and humidity of VA....
I can get flights to San Diego for $200/person or to ABQ, NM for about $300.......I'm leaning towards NM but would appreciate any and all opinions. Thanks!

Depends entirely on what you want to do when you get there.
I prefer an ocean environment. With the age of your kids, they may really like the chance to do the Seaworld thing and the San Diego Zoo.
San Diego would be my pick, but again, it depends on your individual interest.
By the way, I'm in Virginia Beach. Am hoping to get a week or so in San Diego myself this summer.

Weasel - I can't speak for bbvb, but living on the ocean makes me want to visit other ocean locations. I lived on both the east and west coast and love the California beaches.
LOL - you sound like my husband sometimes though. He jokes about living at the beach and traveling however many miles away just to lay on another beach.
