Is Grand Hyatt in a good location?
I will be in town for a conference but will then stay for the weekend with my husband and two year old. I am staying at the Grand Hyatt for the conference but am willing to move for the weekend if the Hyatt is not conveniently located to attractions and restaurants, etc. We are a mid-thirties couple who likes to be more central to action but also have to keep in mind we are travelling with a toddler.

FYI - Just so you know how the forum works - all threads are lumped together under "United States". Clicking on Wash DC (or any state) merely lets folks search for some of the threads about that place. It doesn't work in reverse - reading a thread gives us no idea where it is about if it isn't clear in the message.

I agree with the posters above, however, I found your question because I was searching Washington DC. DH and I and some friends are staying for our second time at this hotel. And I have stayed there alone when on business. I find the location to be very convenient as the Metro Center stop is right there and it is a major transfer point, so you can get anywhere. Also a quick few blocks from the Old Post Office Building, and the museums of the mall are just behind that. It is on the edge of the up and coming Penn Quarter section, which has lots of restaurants, and a few blocks from Chinatown for more restaurants. Enjoy

The Grand Hyatt is in a very convenient central location. I think you'll be happy with it and won't have any need to move. If you're there over the weekend, their Sunday brunch is great($25/person). I always go there for my birthday. It's my favorite brunch in town.
