Inn at Little Washington
Message: I've been reading the string on French Laundry and am intrigued by the wonderous praise it receives. It seemed similar to what one hears in the Washignton, DC area about the Inn at Little Washington.
Has anone on the board been to both? If so, which do you prefer?

I've been to both, although my three visits, once at French Laundry & twice at Inn at Little Washington, have been over the last 5 years. We live in Virginia so Inn at Little Washington is more convenient for us.
We loved them both, although the night we ate at French Laundry they were running late. We had a 45 minute wait for our table, then the service was rushed. I really couldn't find a big difference in the food and would return to either whenever possible! Given a choice, I'd opt for Inn at Little Washington just based on the service.

We've been to the French Laundry twice and the Inn at Little Washington once. (this past Fall). We didn't think the Inn was as good as the talk about it,but perhaps we should have ordered from the regular menu. The tasting menu was not at all to our liking.
Our opinion...the French Laundry is the very very best.

I've been to the Inn only once. The food was very good and the service, ambiance, etc. were all excellent. However, for the uniqueness, quality and presentation of the food, the French Laundry is pretty much in a class by itself.
