Best time to visit Salt Lake City for hiking (also good hiking spots in Utah)
Hi all
I have a Delta buddy pass I am trying to figure out where/when to use.
I understand Delta has tightened up its restrictions, you now have to fly Delta metal to a destination, with a buddy pass. I am pretty sure I can fly from Dulles to Salt Lake City so I am considering if I want to go out there for a long weekend sometime this spring to do some hiking. (I may, or may not, don't know yet - I could get crazy and go somewhere farther afield).
when would the best time (sunny but not hot) be to go to Utah and get in some nice hiking? I also don't want to hike on snowy wet or muddy trails.
any others ideas? any suggestions welcomed.
thanks!

I'm not really much of a hiker, but since you didn't get any responses today, I'll just say that Salt Lake, especially the mountains, often gets spring snow storms and the likelihood is that you would encounter snowy wet muddy trails unless you head down south toward Zions.

thank you!
I don't know where I will use this, yet, it just seems like a neat place to visit. maybe June would be better...
I could even use it to go to Paris (and may yet) but I'd likely have to change in Atlanta and I don't like the thought of using buddy passes with layovers - what if I got stuck?

Hi flygirl,
I don't know if you have been to Salt Lake City before, but if you have not, here is my opinion. I think SL city is one of the most underrated cities in the U.S. It is beautiful and the surrounding areas are gorgeous too. I also think June would be a great time to visit there. Have a good trip no matter what you decide.
